DW5: Empires

Aaaand to absolutely no one's surprise, Dynasty Warriors 5:Empires is a reality. Game hits Japan on 3/23; 3/28 for the U.S. version. I have to admit, I'm pretty happy about it - DW4: Empires was my favorite of the ever-increasing number of Dynasty Warriors games so far. I love the ability to make my own empire. <3 I hope they keep the little side ( Read more... )

Go Liu Chan~~

And, yeah, Wei needs more female officers. Zhen Ji's good though, and she's arguably the most popular among all the females in the series.

Though Guo Jia should take precedence over any Wei character at this stage. He's too good to not be added in the game, as Wei's prized strategist. ;_;

Hey, they don't even need to take time to make Liu Chan good!

Zhen Ji's popular, true. (As she should be.)

Guo Jia is kind of needed, but they seem to be heading towards the later days with the new characters - Guan Ping, Xing Cai, etc. But yeah, now that you mention it, I'm shocked they put Pang De in before they put in Guo Jia. 0.o

their whole side is one huge, scheming sausage fest.

LOL. I remember that's what Shu was like, during DW3.

Ah, but if it were Shu, I'd need to add "self-righteous" at some point in there. :p

Yeah, I don't think they've ever added new characters in the expansions.

They're running out of templates for girls. Sima Yi's wife is never mentioned at all, unlike all the other girls (though Xing Cai not by name, just as Liu Chan's wife). They're running out of templates. There's a poetess named Cai Yan who was on friendly terms with Cao Cao who might work, but I can't think of any other Weiish girls.

Well, not counting Zhu Rong or Sun Shang Xiang, none of them were mentioned beyond "Lady Huang" or "Empress Zhang", etc. Not too many girls playing major roles. Heck, they had to make up first names for the Qiaos.

Cai Yan wouldn't be a bad one to add, especially if she's as good as Zuo Ci.

But I stil kind of want Sima Yi's wife to be there. (C'mon, more Sima Yi cutscenes. This cannot be a bad thing. <3)

No new characters ever added, unless you count actual Musou modes for characters in the "Other" force (in which case Dynasty Warriors 3: XL did it). Samurai Warriors, however, had new characters in its Xtreme Legends expansion.
