Internetional Women's day

(Idea stolen from sarah531. It was too good not to!)

It's International women's day today. In honor of this, if you give me a female character from any fandom you know I know, I'll write a little something-something about her. :)

Depa Billaba. Or, (since there are no specific ones I can think of) a female officer in service to the Empire.

Valeria. Because she's a really cool character. :)

Ginny Weasley?

I'd say Val Wiggin instead, but I don't know if there's a "fandom" out there for her, per se, nor do I know if you know her at all.

Or, if you don't know Val and don't want to do Ginny, perhaps Egwene al'Vere?

Erm, fandom just meaning some form I'm familar with. The character itself doesn't have to have a fandom - (unfortunately) Lorelai certainly doesn't. ^^;

Ginny, sure. ^_^

Val Wiggin, as in Ender's Game Val Wiggin? *squee* you have good taste in books. I have no idea who Egwene al'Vere is, though I have a feeling I should.

You're enough of a Lorelai fan that you create a fandom just by existing, my dear :)

And yes, Val as in Ender's sister. I'm currently rereading the series [I'm on Xenocide at the moment]. Once I finish this and Children of the Mind, I plan to go back then to Ender's Shadow and read through the whole series. I have yet to read Shadow of the Giant, which must be corrected.

As for Mistress al'Vere, she is one of the main characters of the Wheel of Time series, something you still need to read.

... wow, I just realized I had a dream about the Wheel of Time last night. I dreamt that Jordan gave up on trying to finish the series in twelve books, and announced an extra volume in the series between where we are now and A Memory of Light. Creepy.

Not that I'd complain if the series hit thirteen books, considering how important the number is in the series. But still. Weird thing to dream about. The new twelfth book had a title, too. Wish I could remember it, but I can't for the life of me.
