New icon. My interest in .hack has waned, and azurefire got me thinking about Carmen Sandiego, and lo and behold, I felt the urge to make a Carmen icon. So I did. And so she is ( Read more... )

Interest in .hack waning?! Noooo!! .hack is really cool!! Though, Carmen's great, too! And, I like the icon. Though, I'd go after something other than the Eifel Tower if I was you. But, take that too!!

Personally, I like your journal how it is, but I think it'll still look good when you change it!! Not too sure about the ads, though. It shouldn't affect me at least with adblocker but I certainly know what you mean.

.hack is cool, but there's nothing new out in the states I'm interested in. (I don't really care for .hack/LotTB.) I'll probably check out G.U. and the new anime when it comes over here though. I haven't really been keeping up with things - any word on a Helba sighting? Helba makes all things .hack better. :D

Heh, I don't think the Eifel Tower would even fit in my backyard....

This is scootermcgaffin.

On one of my Role Play Livejournals. With Sponsored+ account status, if you want to head over and see what it looks like. I really don't think it's bad at all.

No, it really doesn't. All I see is text for "Advertisement" and "Sponsored search links" and that's certainly not too much to put up with, IMO.

Hey, I just realized, even if you do the whole sponsored+ thing, I won't be bothered, because I've got a paid account! Rock!

Still dunno who my mysterious benefactor is, but whatever.

Personally I hated sponsored+, but it was all in the placement of the ads. If you don't see them, maybe it won't be so bad for you? Try it out!

Congrats to you! How does it feel? :P

You didn't get anything saying who you person was? That's kind of odd. I would think you'd get a message saying something like "(XYZ friend) has decided to give you the gift of a paid LJ!"

I wish I could help you out, but all I can tell you is it wasn't me. I can't even afford to give myself one. ^^;

Placement of the ads is definately key. I don't want them interrupting my journal at all; if they're placed at the side or at the bottom, that's OK, but...

I think I will try it out.

It feels a lot like the last time I had a paid account, except with added confusion and icons. Twenty more icons. I'm up to 14, when my old limit was 15. Now it's 35. Rock.

And I did get something saying who gave me the paid account. It was some dude - or maybe chick, I dunno - named Anonymous. I sort of gathered you weren't Anonymous by your own lack of paid accountness :D Besides, you don't look like an Anonymous.

Speaking of what you look like... are you ever going to send me a picture or not? :D

Anyway, yes, the ads are on the side, but they squished my friends page more than it needed to. By almost twice the width of the ads. Was extremely annoyed and ditched it within ten minutes, or so. I don't know if simply eliminating the ads would fix this for you, or maybe even if that problem was unique to me / my LJ style. I don't think trevoke has that problem, for example.

Sponsored+ is evil. XD Wow, you don't see ads at all? I mean, maybe you should try looking at someone's sponsored+ account and see if you'll like what you see. :)

and wondering whether kids would commit the bad behavior from things like GTA, ganstra music, etc.
A lot of people seem to think that kids don't have brains. =/
In particular, these people would be all those people who just love censoring and banning things here where I live (the Philippines). I find it quite stupid sometimes, really.

Is it evil? ^^; why?

As far as ads, this is what it looks like without it enabled: http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/7223/adtastic5qn.jpg

This is what it looks like for me with it enabled: http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/6907/noads2fg.jpg

I'm certainly willing to put up with two lines of text.

A lot of people forget that they, too, once were kids, and they too, were (probably) not complete idiots. I don't think 7 year olds should play GTA, but I don't think it'd do much harm for a 17 year old to play it (which is, IIRC, the age you have to be to buy it). It's certainly no worse, IMO, than watching something like Saw. Neither one is to my taste, but...*shrug*

The Philippines does seem to have a happy ban button recently. Didn't they just recently block the Da Vinci Code? 0.o

Ah, the Da Vinci Code got banned only in Metro Manila, I think. All the controversy is making it really popular. Our reservation isn't until Wednesday. ^^;;

Granted, there's the unity of the Church and State in this country (yes, even the Church gets involved in politics. The death penalty was lifted about a month ago, and that was probably our president kissing the ass of the church officials, not to mention there was a government official who committed a crime that's heavy enough for death penalty--of course, the latter is just a speculation, although I'm pretty sure that President GMA's sucking up to the Church. I'm actually not really against our president, but well, I have my opinions. =P), but seriously. It's fictional, but the way the Church is acting, they make it seem like it's not. Which is really making everyone curious and intrigued and stuff ( ... )

HAHAHAHHAA. Azurefire brought up the topic because he was very, very confused to see a very girlie-looking Killey staring at him from the DVD rack at CVS. She does have a similar taste in fashion, you have to admit.

I don't think it's possible to femme-up Killey that much. He's pretty masculine-looking. Besides, Carmen has (dark) brown hair and doesn't have a big scar across her face, ala Killey. :D

I've been tempted to have a Killey icon for a while now. I even found a cute kind-of SD one the other day -
