Hi everyone, I'm still around and I'm ready to post some icons!
Buffy is the mini guest @ nekid_spike so here's a set dedicated to the Chosen One, enjoy!

I wanted to say congradulation on your win in the last otherworldlyric icontest - and sneakily ask which ones were yours if any besides the Spike in BY one. (I voted for that one by the ay - lovely! That's probably the first time I've voted for a Spike icon in a challenge I think. Yours is so simple and elegant

Oh thank you so much sweetie and congratulations to you too, gorgeous entries all around! :D

So happy you liked the Spike one, I had an alternative version of him down in front of Buffy with blue tones but opted for the close-up, the words fit this scene so well.
The other icons I submitted were Buffy fighting and Spike under the blanket, not very satisfied with the text in the latter though.

Love Buffy to bits and there are endless scenes I'd love to icon due to SMG's amazing acting. Bargaining is very disturbing, but it came to mind for those lines. The episode I refrain from is the Body, I can't even watch it again.

When it comes to colouring the quality of the cap is essential, which is why the earlier seasons are more difficult and the later ones are more challenging with their pervasive blue, red, orange or very dark lighting.
I'm no expert, the results come from a lot of trying and failing and when nothing works I opt for b/w or sepia ;)

Buffy is totally and completely my BDH. (Did I happen to mention that?)

Bargaining is very disturbing, but it came to mind for those lines

Bargaining is one of THE most horrifying things I've ever seen on television. Maybe one of the most horrifying things, period - true psychological horror. Willow slitting the fawn's throat (which we don't actually see) and going down a bad path; Buffy clawing her way out of her coffin - I can't even.

At least there's Dawn going up and talking her sister down from the tower (WHY is that not celebrated the way Xander talking Willow down at the end of the season is? 15 year old girl, no Slayer strength, just a lot of courage and love. Summers blood is the blood of champions.)

Also, Tara's first axing. I made an icon of that moment.

The episode I refrain from is the Body, I can't even watch it again. I have rewatched but not recently - I actually startled myself by making an icon set from that episode; I didn't think I'd be able to. The one I'm using *points to icon* I immediately liked so much I

WHY is that not celebrated the way Xander talking Willow down at the end of the season is?
Good point, I don't understand all the Dawn hate.

Re the Body: your icon captures that moment beautifully. <3

Adding text to b/w is difficult IMHO, especially if you want to use colour: it gets either too vibrant or too washed out. Often I prefer the muted effect as in this week's 2nd place icon by xclaire_delunex.
