The show centers around the Porn industry, and how many women are viewing porn, and one lady who is an erotica/lingerie boutique owner said something about how women used to feel embarrassed about watching/buying porn, but that they shouldn't, and so now that it's more widely accepted women are just taking advantage of it a lot more now and I was ( Read more... )

aw thank you :)

I mean... I'm all for people getting to know themselves sexually and that we should all be free to share and learn and discuss sexuality, but porn...? Indeed, it is NOT good.

I think it's a good thing that more women are expressing interest in watching porn as it is revolutionizing the industry to be less male-oriented and less degrading towards women in particular. More pornographic material featuring men and women on equal terms is showing up instead of the 'do what I say because I say it, wench!' type ( ... )

I don't care if it's women or men taking an interest in it, or the so-called quality of the content. It's still loveless lovemaking, and it's still dehumanizing ( ... )

I personally don't find porn as offensive as you. It may not be sociably acceptable to admit one likes it, but it's far from abnormal. I actually find it kinda funny. The whole industry is so over the top it's laughable to me.

Playing devil's advocate as well here to an extent, there's a lot of non porn "loveless lovemaking" going on in the world or non monogamous couples having "animalistic sex with a random person". And I'm not a fan of Jenna, but one can point to any number of stars out there and say that they too haven't done much for society. Paris Hilton comes to mind immediately. My point is, it's not just porn stars who are guilty of behavior you mention, which makes me ask, it it porn that's the problem or society/humanity?

As for the contention that menial jobs don't put your health at risk, I present this 1999 article and 2005 list of 10 most dangerous jobs. Depending where and what hours you work, convenience store clerk, delivery person and fast food employee can also be risky.
