faux-hawk or not faux-hawk?

I'm contemplating getting a faux-hawk... I'm not sure my face is the right shape to support a look like this, but I've been looking into it.

The ideal hair style )

and I think the photoshopped version would look super nifty, but such things don't always turn out so well in reality :P basically you should definitely do it if you want to, but don't set your hopes too high that it will turn out an exact way

I would say go for it as long as you can still style it in a different way, less wild or something for work. Unless that's not an issue. :)

I don't really think it's much of an issue for work. My earrings haven't been an issue and I think the kids would probably be pretty amused by some funky hair.

I love faux-hawks, but there are pro and cons for them.

Pros:
- They're FUN!
- They're stylish without the impression of being "high maintenance"
- It can look good spiked or let down

Cons:
- I'm LAZY! (i.e. I end up never bothering to spike them)
- It can look mullet-tastic when left down, especially as it grows out.
- There is a fine line between stylishly avant garde and dyke-y. I normally end up as the latter since I am not 6'3", 120 lbs, with finely sculpted cheekbones, (a la the model in your first pic), and have a penchant for wearing denim and minimal makeup. But if you're comfortable with that, then cool! I say go for it.

Post pics when you get it done!
