As you know, Maxwell has a peanut allergy. It's pretty much been a non-issue (if you consider allergy plans, allergy testing, reading labels and carrying an epi-pen a non issue, which I do), after my initial freak out when he was diagnosed at two. Wow. You know, that should go to show that no one should judge. Including the writer. My reaction to his original article would have been exactly like yours. It's like someone telling Tim he doesn't have a blood disorder or diabetes-that it's just another yuppie invention. Or that a coworker of mine has a child who doesn't really have Cilliac Disease-it's just all in his head. There are many things in this world that people can see 2 different sides of the coin. When it comes to very real health issues though, no one should claim people are making it up.

From a mom with a son with a severe peanut allergy all I can say is...HA! And I don't care if that's bitchy - people like him is what puts my son in danger. Hope he remembers to always to carry that epi-pen.
