I'm kinda stressing out...

For my vet course I have to do 26 weeks of mandatory EMS (=work experience with vets). I've done 6 weeks this last summer. That leaves 20 weeks I still have to do before I graduate! EEP!

My flatmate and I calculated that I have 28 weeks between now and the end of third term next year to get in those 20 weeks, so it should be possible, it just doesn't feel like it. (And I'm going to be doing a lot of it in different places, so I have to add in traveling time too!)

I have 2 weeks at the beginning of summer booked and 2 weeks over christmas.
I'm applying to 4 weeks in UC Davis and 3 weeks at Alamo Pintado equine hospital.
I have to do 1 week at an abattoir.
Trying to get another 2 or 3 weeks farm animal over spring break.
Trying to get 2 or 3 weeks at the human society to practice surgeries.

If I get all those, that's 23 weeks total. So I need three more somewhere...

I emailed Melbourne zoo asking about possiblities. And I'm going to a presentation about Vets Go Wild in South Africa. (Edit: Yeah, that program costs 1,699 quid not including flights. Bugger that.)
...If everything works out just right, I might be able to do it.

Until I know for sure though, I'm going to be giving myself an ulcer.
(Though, ulcers have now been proven to be caused by heliobacter in humans, not actually by stress. However in pigs and horses, which are not infrequently afflicted with gastric ulcers, there has been no link made to heliobacter, and their exact aetiology is still unknown.)
