[Episode Discussion] Shadow

Allright, kids. This is the first of the episode discussion posts. Seeing's how there was a tie on the poll for which episode you wanted to talk about most first up, we flipped a coin [read: arbitrarily decided] to go with whichever one took our fancy.

So, first cab off the rank: Shadows.This is pretty much a free for all: No shirts. No shoes

Throwing this in very quickly die to RL duties...but...the best part in Shadows is when Daddy Winchester appears, because of the family reunion, and the hugs, and the teary eyes, and the awkwardness of Sam and John, and the look in Dean's eyes. Oh, and those frames of Dean's all bloody at the end. And the first ever appearance of the TRUCKZILLA*! Daddy's truck, loyal companion of the Metallicar.

I had a question/nitpick about Truckzilla. When the three Winchesters leave the hotel room, they go right to the Impala, which is parked directly behind Truckzilla. Dean is surprised to see his dad when they enter the hotel. So is the truck new in the last six months or so? Or am I just too nitpicky?

I could watch the hugging scenes all afternoon long.

Oh, that's a damn good observation... either Dean didn't notice Truckzilla, which I sincerely doubt, or, as you say, it has to be fairly new...wait, didn't Sam say in some episode that he'd run John's licence number through some check service or something, and didn't come up with anything?

Can't remember where, damn. It makes sense, though, that John would change his vehicle in order to disappear better.

And yes, I keep rewinding and rewatching The Hugging :)

One of my roommates has a theory that Daddy Winchester is actually already dead, but then he taps out on the whys and wherefors. *shrug* Just something to think about.
