I'm watching brain stem surgery on Japanese TV.  Surgery is not my cup of tea (peppermint tea is my cup of tea, which I am drinking presently).  It's nasty and nerve racking.  Seriously, I can't watch this.

Agreed, except for the peppermint tea.

I wanted to be a doctor for a short period of time when I was younger, but blood is the reason that prevented me. Blood and poop...

My mother sometimes wonders why I didn't want to become a doctor. I usually cite one of three reasons

1. germs and stuff are gross. I don't want to hang out with sick people and touch lesions.
2. Pretty much anything that can come out of the human body
3. People are both gross and unpleasant. No way I'd want to spend all day doing essentially customer service that entails touching cranky un-showered people.

All very excellent reasons. That's only touching the surface though, being a Doctor seems soooo depressing as well. People die around you, suing you for malpractice, being a doctor has seemed to have lost its power and mystique.
