EU court rules Britain can extradite terror suspects to U.S.

As evry skuleboy, but not the Fail apparently, kno the ECHR is not an EU body. It was established by the Council of Europe when the EU was just a gleam in the eye of a handful of French and German politicians.

Yes it's the kind of stupid that apparently has infected people who pay money for publications that consist entirely of wire stories and "Opinion pieces" by wittering cretins.

I don't see how mixing up the EU and the Council of Europe makes it a better story.

I wouldn't have known that the Council of Europe and the EU were different, but I don't write stories about either of them. (Then again, I found the EU institutions I saw in Luxembourg quite confusing; the European Parliament, whose primary decision-making headquarters are in Brussels, or maybe Strasbourg, is run out of Luxembourg, or is it Brussels? And why is the European Council named to be as easily confused with the Council of Europe as possible?)

Perhaps it's best I don't learn more about these various institutions.
