everyone's favorite scary person, Mr. Merges has been fired from Carey.

Apparently, he was making lewd, sexual comments to a female student online, and her parents read every word.

Wow, can't say as I saw that coming

i heard from a teacher who will remain nameless that he was "asked to resign", not fired. but still, it's crazy.

there is so much shit going on at carey right now, it's insaaaaaaaaaaaaaane!

i worked with merges for five years. spent a lot of time with him. very generous, funny, kind hearted man. he did a great deal to improve carey, he loved carey.

this is very sad for me, because he was one of my close friends. he never hesitated to write me a glowing recommendation for whatever i was applying to, he always did whatever he could for his friends and students. buying drinks from the machine when working after school.

when he found out i liked the WHO, he gave me all of his old vinyl records he collected during his youth. that is friendship, no other teacher would do that for his students.

yeah sometimes, he woulk talk about innapropriate things, i know. and he was a gossip, but that's who he was. and i don't think a teacher should be asked to leave simply on the grounds of personality and conversation topics and jokes that were totally taken the wrong way.

i can't say that i am surprised either. but i am still ashamed of the administration, and i too, believe that carey high school is going down the toilet.

carey high school went "down the toilet" a long time ago. it's full of such crap that being down the toilet is the only place it belongs.

except for the cross country and track teams of course!!!!
