I had the most brilliant idea ever today.

Well, brilliant for me. Shikamaru probably has ideas like this all the time, but he's too lazy to do anything about them. Me, I've got the energy and the drive, and once in a while (like today) I have ideas, so when I do, things happenUsually they fail rather spectacularly, too. But that's not the point. Brilliant ain't the word I'd have used...but if you're desparate, I have some skiis (don't ask) and you could stick a big box on them or something.

Hey, you're the new girl! Or one of them. Inuzuka Kiba, nice to meet you. The dog's Akamaru. He's an open secret but it'd be nice if you wouldn't mention him to the manager. Whoever he is.

Skis'd be great. I'll be home from school around 6:30, could swing by and pick 'em up then. Or you could drop 'em off at my apartment, #9, my bum of a roommate ought to be around.

Sorry I can't pay you for 'em--less you wanna go part-shares in the dog-sledding business--but anytime you need something heavy lifted or any other kind of favor, gimme a shout.

Tayuya. Same here. So I'd heard. At least it isn't a cat.

They're just cluttering up room - I'd be glad if you took the shitty things off my hands. Come and pick them up whenever you want - they're not going anywhere.

Another dog person? Whoo!

I'll be by after I get home from class, then.

Sounds fine.

Good luck man, you can probably find some rope or twine in the dumpster behind the art supply store.

Great idea, thanks! In a perfect world I'd like to use some sort of straps or belts if I could, so it'd be easier to buckle and wouldn't give Akamaru rope-burns, but ropes should do in a pinch if they're strong enough. I'll check them out tonight.

There's tons of fuckin doors around here. Just grab a screwdriver or a powerdrill and you've got an instant sled.

Yeah, but then I have no door, and Akamaru gets into the hall and tries to eat things. I'm gonna scrounge around and see if I can find an old rocking chair I can pull apart or something. Invention's, uh, the son of something or other!

Wondered, though, if your work might have any extra straps or something, damaged maybe, that I could get for cheap or free. I've gotta make a harness and ropes won't work for long.

Sure do. Dunno how old you are, but if you're over 18, head over to the shop some time and I'll fix you up for free.

Yes! A design project!! Hmmm... we didn't get much snow where I'm from but... I bet I could find a few plans. And sorry, but no wood from the art students yet...

Oooh, and then think of the work that can be done to make it go faster. I wonder how thin the sled blades would have to be to reach optimal speed without flipping over and...

Wait... this was for children right...

.... safety harness then I suppose.

I was thinking of going out and hunting the alleys for wood--there's always some empty crates or discarded chairs, aren't there? Tayuya volunteered a pair of skis and I'm gonna go pick those up from her in a while; not sure yet how I'll make them work, but you're welcome to help me out with the plans if you want!

And yeah, it is for children... But we've gotta test it first to make sure it works!

I just handed in my last final paper so I have free time now to design things. I was going to look into the house a bit but a sled shouldn't be too much trouble.

I don't promise it will be pretty. You may want to find someone a bit more artistic for that.

That'd be awesome if you would!

And pff, Akamaru and me are both guys. We don't care about pretty. Leave that to Sasuke or someone. Him I'm not sure about.

I'm picking up the skis from Tayuya sometime tonight and dropping by Temari's store around eight to ask about a job, so if you wanted to come over sometime between then, we could work something out. Or I could come over to your place, or we could hang out in the hall, or whatever.

Its a cute idea, but I think it lacks something in the presentation.

You're going to need a costume.

I was thinking my regular coat would be fine. Mushers don't usually wear anything more than that anyway.

What were you thinking of?
