I hate Macs.

I've always thought that there seemed to be something sneakier and more evil about Macs. Well, today I have officially had it with the Apple people. My compy crashed and I had to reformat, but when I went back and tried to take my music from my iPod and put it back on my computer it tried to erase everything on my iPod. Luckily, I stopped it. I had that problem when I got a new computer :( Never found a way around it and ended up starting from scratch. You might be able to find a way though cause I didn't look exceptionally hard.

Yeah, my honey eventually figured it out. We needed to get the music off the iPod by checking the pod as a "jump drive thingy." Then we needed to un-hide the files so that iTunes could find them. It sure was complicated for something that shouldn't be. :/

Get iDump. It puts it into a folder and you put the folder back into iTunes -- Kristine uses it all the time with no problems.

Although, yes. I'm still morally opposed to Macs :-P

I tried a few programs before my honey figured out how to do it manually. I think the new iTunes was made to not work with most of them. Gr! (Although, I didn't try iDump in particular.)

Be glad there have been a lot of changes in iPods in later generations. 1st and 2nd gens generally didn't have nifty work arounds like that, it was what you lost iTunes? Bummer! I am trying to get my wife's iPod to work with linux so Im familiar with the travails of Apple ish!
