If we're fortunate, we return from every journey (each of which constitutes one more leg in the overall journey that is our life) knowing a little bit more than we did upon our departure. Such was the case with our week-long trip to Salt Lake City, which equipped me to enter the new year with the following knowledge-some of which I already knew but ( Read more... )

As one of my first LJ friends, added nearly 2 years ago, your posts are missed on my friends page...very much so!

Flying back from my first visit to Seattle in November 1996 our plane was diverted to SLC to re-fuel before going to Dallas for my connecting flight back to Baltimore (I lived in Harrisburg back then). I have some amazing pictures of flying in and out of SLC and I've always wanted to actually go back and see the place from the ground. Watching several seasons of 'Big Love' hasn't diminished that desire any! We'll make it there someday!

Meanwhile, Happy New Year to you and don't be such a stranger on the LJ posts! BTW, how is the book going?

Thanks for the kind words. I don't generally make New Year's resolutions--but if I did, one of them would be to post more regularly (i.e., more than once every three months) in 2008.

Salt Lake is indeed a beautiful place. Visitors expecting to be accosted on the street by Mormons/Mormon fundamentalists will be as pleasantly surprised as tourists to the East who brace themselves for cold and uncaring New Yorkers.

As far as the book, it's going well. I've got more material than I knew existed and have immersed myself in the process of ensuring that the best of it finds its way into print. I really should make a resolution to keep that blog updated, too...

Happy New Year!

Your right, I don't think I have EVER accosted you, have I?

It was SO very good to see you, Deb, and Laura. Thank you for also making it a MTRG reunion. Oh, how I miss everyone.

Sounds like there is a story behind your forgiveness comment, you will have to share sometime....

BTW, your comment reminded me that the mall was actually being torn down during the time you were visiting in the summer. When I couldn't find my way to the restaurant. Your memory isn't the only one not keeping accurate directions.

Happy New Year and Much Love, btflgal
