Kakashi led the way to his home, and soon, they pulled up. It was a nice three story home, a big yard with large lush trees and flowers. It was rather picturesque looking home. After pulling into the garage, he climbed out and gave a sharp whistle, chuckling as he heard the stampede of paws rush towards him. He knelt and greeted the dogs one at a ( Read more... )

When he turned into Kakashi's place, he wasn't exactly sure if the other had accidentally taken a wrong turn and ended up at some bed-n-breakfast or something - a damn fine BnB for that matter too. But when Kakashi got out of his car, Shisui figured they were at the right place. Holy crap...

But perhaps it was to be expected of a guy who owned a Stradivarius?

Getting out of his car and pocketing his keys, Shisui walked up to the dogs, smiling. "Hey guys~" Man that one guy looks scary... "Yeah definitely not Poms," he said, laughing. Which is also when he realized he had Skittles in his pocket and his laughter faded into a slightly nervous one. Turning to Kakashi, hand in his pocket crumpling that bag of Skittles, he whispered: "They're not going to come at me like wolves to beef jerky, are they? 'Cause I've got Skittles in my pocket..." Memories of Uncle Madara's cat began to creep into him now ( ... )

Still >.>

Shisui had patted the dogs then, eventually bending down to actually play with them a bit. It took him a while to get used to the biggest dog, though, and he almost jumped back, only lightly patting him, still a little uncertain~

Well, he was working part time as a criminal profiler (more like a consultant), but that really wasn't getting him much cash flow :< Oh world, why are you so unfair?

Still playing, his voice broke slightly towards the end. Shisui managed to stop himself, though, and continued until the end, sighing softly as the last note faded into the air. He was still unaware of Kakashi's presence.

The man had moved, silent as a shadow to stand behind the Uchiha and only when he stopped playing did two arms reach 'round him and begin to play, his voice rang out, low and rich as he sang.

He too had someone special, someone that had brought music into his life...and they weren't there any longer. It was one of the most gut wrenching things he did on a weekly basis, go and pay homage to his parents.

His mother had passed away when he was young, and it was around that same time, when his father had returned home against orders to see his son. He himself had been the target of the sniper that day, but his father had saved him at the cost of his own life, bleeding out in his young sons' arms who was still so young, too young to understand what had happened.

Shisui nearly turned around in shock when he saw Kakashi's fingers touch the keys in front of him, but turning only ended in him face to face with Kakashi's chest. He paused for a second there before slowly turning back to watch those fingers move on the keys, not taking his eyes off them. He pushed the pedals whenever necessary, not breaking into song this time, the underlying message getting through to him.

Did everyone in this place come from messed up childhoods? As counselor, he'd had to listen to every kid's story, and everyone had a terrible story to tell. His own brothers - no, cousins - shared something similar, something that tied them together.

Halfway through the song, Shisui tilted his head to steal a glance at the other, quietly going back to watching him play the rest of it...

The stolen glance would be met right back. It was so strange to think that even the brightest of smiles had a shadow at their back. Kakashi felt bad for what had happened to his father yes, he did miss his mother, but he didn't let such a thing rule his life.

He had picked himself up, dusted himself off and pressed on, making something of himself. He had originally started down the path he chose in search of vengeance for his father and he had gotten it....he then learned of a greater joy. Protecting those who could not defend themselves, being there for the ones who needed you, picking up someone who had fallen and given up hope.

As he ended the song he teased the last notes from the keys with the gentleness of a practiced lover. He gave a soft pleasant hum before leaning back and smiling to Shisui warmly.
