The physical therapy exercises are helping somewhat; what seems to help the most is something that seems really weird. The therapist used to roll a thingy down the side of my leg. She called it a "foam roller," but the word "foam" makes it sound as if it should be soft, and it wasn't at all. It hurt while she did it, but I'd be better afterwards. So now Norman rolls my leg with a rolling pin every night after dinner. A regular rolling pin, like you use to make pie crust with. Now it's a physical therapy tool. :-)
Is Valentine's Day celebrated in the Netherlands, or is it mostly an American thing?
I wish I could give you a Valentine's Day hug! (Some people think that Valentine's Day is solely for romantic love, but in my family, we've always treated it as a day to celebrate any sort of affection. So my parents and I give cards to one another, and I send them to friends, too. so here:

And no, Valentine's day is not really a big thing here. We do celebrate it (at least some people do, it's easy to avoid) but I think we still view it as something American and something very commercial. What a lovely story, and so true. I believe in lust at first sight, but not love. As you say, to be able to say that you love someone, it's a good idea to actually know that person.

The idea that SPOCK, of all people, would fall in love at first sight ... maybe at first MELD, but not at first sight. :-)
