when i was little i had a cheap little cassette recorder that i played with almost every day.  (would that i were that prolifically creative now!)  i would sing songs, read riddle books out loud, perform skits with my next-door-neighbor, etc.  but one of my favorite things to do was create imaginary radio shows for the imaginary radio station WNAN

It must be some after effect of the Philadelphia Experiment caused your tapes to be transported several years into the future, where a Welsh pig farmer with a football fetish discovered it and turned it into reality. The tape then boomeranged back to you so you never realized it was missing. The government denies any knowledge of the Philadephia Experiment, WNAN or Welsh pig farmers, which only proves the existance of all three.
