What follows is an email conversation between Giles DuBois, Prince of Houston, and Salvatore Giovanni.

Am I to understand our agreement is at an end? We took the city back
from the Sabbat. Now on the anniversary of their removal you want to
allow them to openly attend a gathering our two factions attend? I
realize Camilla and others have dealings with members of the Sabbat
but I thought the last lesson your family learned from them showed
they were not nice neighbors. I'm greatly concerned as I thought our
mutually beneficial arrangement was working quite wonderfully.
Do I need to re-examine the nature of our relationship? I have given
you and yours a great deal of freedom and forgiveness during
gatherings hosted by the Ivory Tower. Things I am not required to do
but because of our work against the Sabbat I have.

As I understand it, our agreement was never meant to cause the Giovanni to side with the Camarilla permanently. I had agreed to help the Camarilla push back the Sabbat so we could get back to working on our business and our holdings after they began to meddle in our affairs. This was done and the agreement was fulfilled. I also remind you that the Giovanni territory is not "granted" by the Camarilla or the Sabbat. It is our, as it has been for over a century, and will continue to be.
We were asked to host a gathering the exemplifies the Giovanni clan and what we stand for, which is neutrality. Inviting all vampires to attend is what we as the Giovanni exemplify. We do not participate in your wars, yet we remain hospitable to all. If you do not wish to attend, you do not have to. However, this does not mean we cannot continue to business with you and your court unless you deem otherwise. I hope we can avoid getting to a point where you feel it necessary to begin intervening in our business. I'm certain we can avoid that unpleasantness.
I hope you can attend. It should be exciting nonetheless, something that you and your court had expressed an interest in after our "boring" party on Saturday.

I would never be so bold as to think the Giovanni were aligned with
the Ivory Tower. To put a finer point on it through, I seem to recall
you came to me to help remove the Sabbat as they had taken what was
yours or were on the verge. Given my previous successful dealings with
Camilla and well to be honest who my Sire is, you called me. The
Sabbat were actively killing your family, the Ivory Tower actively
helped secure what was yours and cleaned them out so all Giovanni and
Camarilla members could walk the night in relative safety once again
in Houston.
The Giovanni were never commanded or in anyway directed to host a
gathering by the Ivory Tower. I asked if you would like to start a
tradition and host gatherings in June on the anniversary of our
success so that both sides could remember the great deeds we achieved
together. Show casing each clan was the order I gave my primogen.
I never recall asking your clan to entertain the Ivory Tower, so some
of the neonates were bored who cares. I am routinely bored at my own
gatherings. So to jump to inviting Sabbat, appears an extreme leap. I
was rather hoping for zombies and wraths but we don't always get what
we want.
Regrettably I will not be able to attend your gathering as I don't
socialize with Sabbat filth, I kill them.
