 Fandom: Tales of Vesperia

Rita sat awake on her bed, unable to sleep after all that had happened in that day alone. They went from the ancient city of Myorzo to the incredibly frustrating Shrine of Baction, with its monsters and mazes because Estelle had been kidnapped, and then they went on a wild goose chase in the Heracles in attempt to save her - only to find out that the backstabbing Commandant had made his way to Zaphias behind their backs!

Not only that, they were completely exhausted after having fight Zagi in the Heracles and being knocked off into a distance because of Estelle’s power being manipulated by Alexei in the Sword Stairs in Zaphias. They landed in a field not far from Capua Nor, yet the blow had injured her and her comrades. Luckily for them, Teagle called for a doctor came to tend to their injuries, since they practically staggered into the town with bruises and broken bones.

It was already nightfall in the Inn of Capua Nor, and even through her body begged for her to take some rest, her mind was spinning like a top.

‘That stupid old man,’ she thought as she tugged the blankets around her. ‘I can’t believe the stupid Captain of the Schwann brigade was Raven! What in the world…’

She watched as Yuri and Repede were sound asleep, the former’s back against the wall, Karol snoring away on a bed beside hers, and Judith sleeping on one of the armchairs comfortably. She glared at the bushy ponytail belonging to Raven on the long sofa in the darkness. ‘Damn you, you stupid old man!’ she cursed in her mind as she closed her eyes. ‘I hate you!’

It was a fact; a fact that she will deny for the rest of her life; that she felt her heartbeat escalate when she saw Raven donned in the clothes of an Imperial Knight Captain, speaking to them as a Captain would, in the cold demeanour that was completely unlike him. It gave her the chills to know that the real him was so cold and unfriendly, when all the while he had been travelling in such a happy-go-lucky, laidback manner. However, it gave her the jitters to see what Raven would look like if he ever tried to look neat.

As hard as she tried not to admit it, she eventually lost to her own will and succumbed to the truth - she liked the way he looked in that armour - so tremendously that she couldn’t imagine looking at him in the eye if he had let go of his hair ever again. She knew that she was feeling all this despite him being twice her age.

Grabbing the pillow, she covered her reddening face and promised to herself that this will remain her secret and hers alone.
