Inoo stared out the window of the Jimusho’s music room as he tapped his finger impatiently on the G key. It was 5:04 PM, 34 minutes past the agreed time. In annoyance and boredom, he sat on the bench and tapped the keys. He ran up the scale absentmindedly until a loud bang dragged him out of his thoughts.
“Sorry I’m late Inoo-chan!” said a sweating Hikaru. Inoo glanced at him and asked, “Why are you late? And sweaty?”
“I-hah… I ran… No bus…” He wiped his forehead. “No bike…”
Inoo sighed, “Whatever, let’s just start, okay?” He fixed the bench and faced the piano. Hikaru made his way to the chair and sat down.
“Okay Hikaru, first we-“
Ryutaro knocked on the door, “Hikaru-kun, Producer-san needs you. Up on the fourth floor,” He turned to Inoo and waved before walking away.
“Ah, sorry Inoo,” He stood up and ran as he yelled his apologies, “Maybe tomorrow!”

I’ll get him this time, Inoo thought as he waited in front of Hikaru’s classroom. He played with his phone as he ran through what he would teach Hikaru. The ringing bell shocked him out of his reverie. Quickly, he scanned the faces of the swarms of students for a particular face. A few seconds later, Taiyou tapped him on the shoulder.
“Oh! Tai-chan!” he greeted. The tall boy smiled back. Inoo looked into Taiyou’s expression and immediately read what he was thinking.
“He just ran off to skip my tutorial, huh?”
Taiyou nodded. Inoo stormed off.

Inoo sat in front of the piano playing the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn. His fingers flew swiftly over the black and white keys. He closed his eyes, putting all of his emotions into the piece. It flowed from his heart and into his fingers, gracefully tapping the keys. The sound it emitted expressed music so pure that it lulled him in a false sense of security. Suddenly-
“Whacha doin’ Inoo-chan?”
His eyes shot open and he shrieked, “Chinen! What are you doing here?!”
Ryutaro popped up from out of nowhere and said, “Chinen was bored so I took him here,” He looked into Inoo’s semi-annoyed expression and apologized, “Sorry Inoo,” Just then, Chinen tackled him which made him chase Chinen. Inoo stared at the two of them as they ran around the room. With all of his annoyance, he stood up and grabbed both of them by the collar.
“Hold it! If you’re going to play here, stay in one corner,” They nodded as Inoo let go and resumed running. He groaned.
Just then, Hikaru entered. “Alright! Let’s start!” he announced to the whole room. Inoo hurriedly sat down and made room for Hikaru.
“Okay Hikaru-kun, let’s start with Practice Piece Three,” he directed. For once, Hikaru obeyed without question. Sitting up, Hikaru put his fingers on the piano and played with the utmost concentration. He swayed with the music, feeling its rhythm and matching it with his movements. Suddenly, two fingers from under the piano reached for the keys. Hikaru yelped like a girl.
“Oi Chinen! Get out from under there!” Inoo commanded, a bit annoyed. Chinen poked his head from underneath and told Inoo, ”But-“
“No buts. Get out,”
“Lemme stay here, please?”
“No.”
“I’ll stop,”
Inoo groaned. “Fine,” and turned back to Hikaru. They resumed practice but-
“No Hikaru, that’s not right,”
“It wasn’t me! It was this brat!”
The scene repeated over and over for a few more minutes until Inoo stood up.
“Hikaru, let’s just stop. The squirrel and the hamster are having too much fun,” he said, gathering his things.

“Is this really necessary?” asked Hikaru, “I can barely move, ya know!”
Inoo was fixated on this. He made sure he would teach Hikaru something today. This explains why his non-funny comedian friend was tied to a chair. Minus his arms, of course.
“Okay Hikaru, play that piece from the top!” Hikaru widened his eyes at Inoo and whined, “But I did that last week! Can’t you teach me something else?!”
“Okay then,” said Inoo. He fumbled with the sheet music in his arms. He handed a few to Hikaru. “How about this?”
“Canon?! You know I’m not ready for that yet!” And he shoved the papers back to Inoo. Unfortunately, the fuming pretty boy couldn’t take it anymore.
”FIRST YOU COME IN LATE, NOT EVEN TELLING ME AHEAD OF TIME, THEN YOU DITCH PRACTICE AND NOW YOU YELL AT ME AS IF IT IS ALL MY FAULT!” he exploded as he flailed his arms, paper flying everywhere.
“YOU KNOW WHAT?!” he shouted, shoving the papers threateningly in Hikaru’s face, “Get your own tutor! I’M OUT!” and he slammed the door behind him.
Hikaru stared at the place where Inoo disappeared. “Jeez,”

“Just talk to him, please?”
“No,”
“Just a bit?”
“NO.” Inoo said firmly. He stared into Yabu’s eyes as he kneeled in front of the pretty boy.
“Teach Hikaru again! Please!” The elder of the two begged. Inoo sniffed in indifference. “And why should I? He skipped out on so much and he doesn’t listen,”
Just then, Daiki entered the room. It seemed that he was also looking for Inoo. He made his way towards them. The youngest BEST member looked at Yabu then at Inoo. He then kneeled in front of Inoo. He clasped his hands together.
“Please teach Hikaru!!” The two begged together. Inoo blinked in surprise. “You too? What’s wrong, Dai-chan?”
Daiki whispered, “He’s in the music room and he’s making the most awful noises! Please Inocchi, teach him! He’s giving us headaches!”
Inoo couldn’t really believe it. He thought that it was another of Hikaru’s secret plots to get him to teach him again. “But the last time I checked, he played the practice performances properly; you really can’t fool me this time,”
Daiki rolled his eyes and pulled Inoo from his seat. Together, the three of them made their way to the music room. They sneaked up behind the door to peek at what Hikaru was doing. Surprisingly, he was playing the piano; quite well, actually.
“See?” said Inoo, “he’s doing fine,” He turned and started to walk away until he heard another voice emanate from inside the room.
“Thanks for inviting me over,” said Keito who stood over Hikaru. The elder looked up into his eyes with such gentleness. Hikaru hugged Keito’s waist.
“Thanks for the company, Keito. I really appreciate it,”
Inoo immediately turned on his heel and walked away. “Tell him we start first thing tomorrow morning,” he muttered to Daiki.

“And now, Yaotome Hikaru for a surprise number! Douzo!” said the host of Shounen Club, Koyama Keiichiro. He motioned to the center stage where an ivory baby grand was placed. On the bench sat Hikaru, looking a bit tense. He began to speak into the microphone.
“I’ve only recently learned how to play the piano,” he said as he watched the shocked faces of his bandmates sitting near Koyama. It was truly a surprise for only the director, producer and Hikaru knew about this. He continued.
“And I owe it all to lovely Inoo-chan! Inocchi!” he addressed the boy, “this one’s all for you!”
He looked into Inoo’s face and saw the cutest expression etched on it. As if he’s trying to hide the smile mingled with a loving expression that Hikaru just melted at. Inoo noticed his slight slip-up and readjusted his expression into mild surprise. Hikaru smiled and placed his hands on the keys, playing a soft tune. The melody of the song was heartwarming; everyone’s hearts seemed to beat with the slow tempo. He looked back at Inoo who stared at him with pride and wonder. Damn it, Inoo, he thought, the things you make me do,
He finished to tumultuous applause. He returned backstage to change into the next costume. He looked for Inoo but couldn’t find him; the staff and stylists were fussing too much over him.
The HSJ medley was next.
They went on stage and Hikaru didn’t dare steal a glance at Inoo who danced right next to him.
The show ended with the medley and all people onstage joined hands for the bow. Hikaru noticed that whoever held his hand was grasping it rather tightly. He glanced at his left and looked at the person who stood next to him. It was Inoo.
A few minutes later, they were off the stage and they made their way to their respective dressing rooms. It wasn’t until Hikaru reached his dressing room door when he noticed something.
“Inoo-chan, the show’s over,” He held up their intertwined hands, “You can let go now,”
He glanced at the pretty boy’s blushing face. He smiled.
“I don’t want to let go,”
