Ghost Keyword Interview Translation

This was supposed to be my Easter translation project, but I procrastinated a lot until recently :).

This interview is from the February 2009 issue of Arena 37c. Credits goes to ryuik for scanning and sharing.

This is dedicated to wongkk for being a wonderful person and getting me goodies from Japan. I hope you enjoy this, especially the last part since I ( Read more... )

That was a very interesting interview...I wish I could see him and You playing the violin together. *Plots to save money for the DVD*

I wish I could see him too~ All the concert reports I've read mentioned that part and now I'm really curious.

Oh my! You've posted here too!

Well, so you should - that translation deserves every possible airing. I've left a more respectful (er, after the initial shock!) comment on GA cos that's where I've found the translation first.

Nice to see that so many other people are avidly reading your work (Gackt's mind) too. If Gackt wants to improve his English, I hope he looks here!

Thanks again for the dedication - it does me good to squirm from time to time, I guess! And it serves me right for having posting nothing of my own since returning home.

I've posted it to several places and avoided looking at my friends' list cos it makes me squirm to see my entries all over the page.

I don't know if you've seen the video of him commenting on Tokyo hosting the Paralympics in 2016, but he spoke in a few languages there, and I was certainly impressed!

Poor u - you've so many admirers making comments now! Dun bother about my junk. Yeah, I did watch the OIC thing and stuck up for G's language skills:

Having just stumbled round Japan making inarticulate goldfish noises for half the time, I'm not in the mood to take too much slagging off of His Extreme Gorgeousness's English! Like the bloke says, he's a genius ha ha

I'm pleased to read that you trawl around before settling on the best fit for a translated word. I like that in a geek ;) (I do that too - how the h*ll do you learn otherwise?)

Your translations rock - but they do attract comments! It's partly cos His EG actually has something interesting and even original to say. That's one reason why we're all so grateful to you for unlocking the bank vaults of Gackt's mouth!

Thank you so much for translating! I loved reading that about violin, especially how Gackt balances traditional technique and visual aesthetics-- very interesting to me because I play classical violin but also do ballet, which is visual. I really wish I could see their violin duet!

You're welcome :).

I think Gackt has always paid attention to both the aesthetics and the musical aspects of his concerts- they're always a feast for the eyes as well as the ears!
