Fandom: Resident Evil Pairing: Chris Redfield x Piers Nivans Theme set: Delta Rating: K Warnings: heavy spoilers for Chris’ campaign in Resident Evil 6, yaoi, high saccharide rates, awful grammar mistakes that desperately require some correction (I’m serious, if you ever find something terribly wrong, please feel free to make the adequate corrections. My English skills are still pretty lame), ideas and phrases that actually make sense in my head but when read without a context may sound weird. Additionally, I’m being awfully mean to Piers. Also, a lot of repetition (Chris/Piers/Chris/Piers/captain/marksman/Chris/Piers) because I lack proficiency with wording.
#01 - Air The captain’s blood froze for a couple of seconds as he called for his partner’s name, a couple of seconds before he emerged, desperately grasping for air.
#02 - Apples Piers started to grow a certain resentment for apples thanks to Jake, but when they were given by his captain, he quickly changed his mind.
#03 - Beginning After Chris had run away from the hospital, Piers felt as if their relationship (or whatever was happening between them) had been restarted; it was like the beginning of a new life for Chris: a life where the marksman had no place.
#04 - Bugs In spite of being an apparently tough, flawless person, Piers had a special distaste for bugs (for his captain’s amusement).
#05 - Coffee The best things in Chris Redfield’s weekends: black coffee, summer sunset and Piers’ light, warm breath in his neck.
#06 - Dark After the incident in Edonia, darkness brought the worst of nightmares for both soldiers.
#07 - Despair “You’re gonna be okay!!” Chris kept repeating as he carried his partner to the lab’s exit, his heart racing with every tired step, while all his hope was leaving him along with Piers’ blood trail.
#08 - Doors Through the glass of the escape pod’s door, the captain of the BSAA could see chaos, destruction and the last smile of the person he loved the most.
#09 - Drink During the entire first week after Piers had found Chris Redfield, the same cycle would repeat: the captain would drink until he could no longer stand up and Piers would patiently bring him back home safe and sound, then tuck him in bed and make sure he had everything he needed.
#10 - Duty It was tough to decide between love and duty when Piers looked so adorable sleeping sound in his arms.
#11 - Earth Every time his captain smiled for him, it took his breath away and it felt as if the Earth was shaking beneath his feet.
#12 - End Chris wished that every single night of his life ended up like that: with Piers collapsed right beside him on the bed, sleeping safe and sound.
#13 - Fall It was painful for the marksman to see how the man he looked up to not too long ago was now nothing more than a drunk loser wandering from bar to bar.
#14 - Fire Chris should be having nightmares as his team torched the remaining B.O.W.s in the area, but weirdly enough the first memories that came into his mind were of his partner’s smiles whenever their eyes met in the past. #15 - Flexible Piers knew that, as a captain, he was still lacking what Chris seemed to have the most: the gift to command his subordinates diligently, yet treating them like brothers rather than expendable soldiers.
#16 - Flying If it weren't for the circumstances, Piers would actually feel honored for being on board of a VTOL piloted by his own captain.
#17 - Food Chris would have never guessed that, besides being the top-ranked sniper and best driver of the BSAA, Piers Nivans also knew how to make excellent pancakes.
#18 - Foot The feeling of falling off the stairs and breaking your foot is never pleasant, but if that meant being pampered and spoiled by Piers during the recovery time, then Chris was willing to do that more times.
#19 - Grave Chris wished he could at least stop by Piers’ grave, but he had failed even to bring his partner back from their last mission.
#20 - Green Piers seemed to have some kind of obsession for the green color, but he didn’t complain when Chris gave him a dark blue shirt as a birthday gift.
#21 - Head Yes, the captain was definitely a pain in the ass, but in spite of being scolded even for his successes, Piers kept his head and spirits high and wasn’t planning on giving up on him anytime soon.
#22 - Hollow Six months had passed since the incidents in the underwater facility and even though there was always work to do and very few time to relax, Chris still found that something (or rather “someone”) was missing in his life.
#23 - Honor It took Piers every single drop of patience to bring his captain back to the BSAA, but keeping him in there was becoming a matter of honor.
#24 - Hope In spite of Chris’ harsh decisions, Piers still hoped that he was going to see his good old captain back to what he was before the incidents in Edonia.
#25 - Light For the first time in his life, seeing the light of the day in the end of the escape pod’s trip didn’t feel like a blessing for Chris Redfield.
#26 - Lost It had been a couple of months since Piers had found Chris wasted in a crappy bar, but even after the captain rejoined the BSAA the marksman still felt lost, as if the man he had brought back wasn’t the same person as before.
#27 - Metal Piers never seemed to lose the undying habit of snoozing with his rifle in his hands, supported in his shoulder and Chris never gave up the habit of putting a pillow on Piers’ chin so he wouldn't snooze with his face touching the cold metal of his gun.
#28 - New Chris paid attention to every single decision Piers made, and the marksman’s bold moves unavoidably reminded the captain of himself when he was younger; perhaps that meant that it was already time to pass the baton to someone new?
#29 - Old It was hard to give up old habits: quit drinking, let go of the past and realizing, when looking at Piers in his eyes, that maybe he was getting too old to keep fighting and maybe it was about time he settled down.
#30 - Peace Piers had thought that he was going to have some peace of mind in the moment he found Chris after those six months of unstoppable search, but the captain seemed to be reckless than ever.
#31 - Poison Piers’ kisses, chaste or not, never failed to lead Chris to darker thoughts; they always tasted like youth, innocence and sweet poison.
#32 - Pretty There was something enticing in the marksman’s body that Chris couldn't quite put his finger on; maybe it was his slender, yet fierce figure, or maybe it was just the way he moved.
#33 - Rain Piers could barely breathe as he tried to explain the reason why he was so late that day, but Chris just pulled him closer; a deep kiss in the rain was enough to forgive whatever reasons he had for being late.
#34 - Regret As the escape pod got further from his sight, Piers sighed in pain and relief, for his captain was now safe and he could leave the world with no regrets.
#35 - Roses In any other date Chris would have bought roses, yet he thought that maybe flowers wouldn't be an appropriate date gift for Piers.
#36 - Secret Chris felt really guilty when he found out that Piers had been hiding a couple of nasty scars spread through his body, knowing that they were a result of the marksman risking his life while trying to saving them both in Edonia.
#37 - Snakes Finn really seemed to enjoy playing pranks on Piers, specially ones that involving putting rubber snakes in his locker; Chris never grew tired of seeing Piers’ reaction when he saw one.
#38 - Snow As soon as they got off the plane that lead them to Edonia, Chris decided it would be funny to see Piers’ reaction to a bit of snow in his pants; it would suffice to say that Piers didn't find the idea so funny.
#39 - Solid It was in his captain’s arms that he felt the safest, like having a solid ground under his feet after a long plane trip.
#40 - Spring In spite of the beauty of the flowers and the freshness of the weather, Piers would spend most of the time sneezing because of the pollen spread in the air.
#41 - Stable After their tight escape from Edonia and in spite of being badly injured, Piers couldn't suppress a sigh of relief after hearing that Chris’ health situation was stable.
#42 - Strange It was painful for Piers to see that, after six months looking non-stop for Chris, the captain looked at him as if they haven’t ever met.
#43 - Summer Seeing his captain shirtless, sweat glistening on his brawny chest in the end of a warm afternoon always reminded Piers why Summer was his favorite season.
#44 - Taboo Chris could understand Piers’ reservations towards showing his feelings, especially considering he was from a family where education seemed to be stricter; yet, it was kinda cute to see how he tried to deny the fact the he didn't have eyes for anyone other than the captain.
#45 - Ugly A mission with Chris Redfield as the captain always meant lots of blood spilled, possible psychological traumas for the rest of your life and ugly scars and bruises spread through the marksman’s body.
#46 - War As war was waging, Piers realized how much the BSAA needed Chris Redfield as the captain of the team and how much he needed him right there beside him.
#47 - Water Piers really liked to share his bottle of water with his captain; drinking from it always seemed to make the water taste like Chris’ lips.
#48 - Welcome A pat on his shoulder and the captain’s smile was all Piers needed to feel like part of the team.
#49 - Winter There was no snuggling under the blankets nearby a fireplace for men at war, but at least Piers had an excuse to be closer to his captain in a cold winter night.
#50 - Wood Piers just observed silently as Chris threw the last piece of wood in the fire, his face lighted by the flames, a smile that was not only for him and thought that maybe it was better like this: that they kept their distance and did not lose the focus of their main mission.

[Notes] Oh boy, this was difficult. I didn't remember writing was so difficult. In fact, I could have sworn that writing was not supposed to be this difficult, specially with such an "easy" pairing. But you know when words just don't come up in your mind? Or they even do, but putting your ideas into words that are not in your native language tends to increase the difficulty slightly, specially after reading so many things with an excellent quality. I guess I would even go as far as saying that, well, most of the prompts suck. Not because of the keywords, they would actually give really nice themes. It's the way I put the sentences together that sucks. I just... look at them all and don't feel satisfied.
I might give the 1sentence challenges another go, but it's more likely that I'll end up giving up writing.
