Tu vuo fa l'americano?

I'm sick and tired of the right and left wing extremists like Michael Moore and Ann Coulter, who are tearing this country apart.. I'm tired the so-called "bleeding hearts" that spew hatred against Bush and the Republicans.. I'm tired of the nebbishy rebels without a cause saying that they'll move to Canada because our freedoms are being flushed ( Read more... )

"Your countrymen have spoken. This is the path they've chosen. Just because you can't understand the politics of the majority does not make it wrong. This is a utilitarian society, and by that, the majority [of those who make their voices heard] determines what is right and wrong.."

Right, yes, I'm sure the large numbers of Germans that voted for Hitler in the 1930s would agree with you there. Wake up and smell the shit you parochial, arse slapping, whoa-yeah Americano.

Hahah... Germans didn't even vote for Hitler.. he was named chancellor by President Von Hindenburg.. in fact the Nazis didn't even win a majority of the seats in their election.. the Nazis gave them themselves majority control in the reichstag by arresting the communist deputies or refusing to let them into work, and that allowed Hitler to implement his "New Order."

...but I love the name-calling though.. really, I do.

It is true. Hitler never quite managed to get the 50% majority, but people still freely voted for him in their millions.

LookIf you look, beginning in the late 1920s the Nazi (National Socialist) party, with Hitler at the helm, began to accure more and more votes, largely by recruiting poor, ill-educated, rural voters. In 1932 there were 2 presidential elections, which were reasonably close, and the Reichstag elections also meant that the Nazi party had most of the seats in government (33%, versus 20%, 16%, 12%, 8% and other piffly numbers held by other parties). Because of this, Hindenburg was forced to offer to form a coalition government with Hitler. He thought he could control him, and hence Hitler was made chancellor. Then there was another election in 1933 where there were lots of naughty shenannigans of which you speak, and the Nazis managed to get 43% of the seats, which was de-facto a majority because the Nationalist party were basically on their side, and their seats as well pushed everything over 50%. Then in 1934 ( ... )

obviously Hitler imposed his will on his people, he was not democratically elected.. and it was not a utilitarian society in that respect.. but you can say that most people went along with him (mostly for fear of being of persecuted)

furthermore, what determines right and wrong for itself? the majority does...

I'm not saying Liberals are idiots and that they should shut up.. I'm saying they should stay here and fight, not move to canada. And they shouldn't be as close-minded as you are, by assuming 51% of the country is ignorant, selfish idiots because they don't agree with their political philosophy. Most of my friends, (you'll notice it's the case on LJ too) are liberals and they will have an amicable argument with me on our personal political philosophies.. I know they want to understand where I'm coming from, but that's obviously not the case with you.

Prove to me that you are noble, good, intelligent and kind and I will retract them. ok, I'll try... how about I'm not the one calling you names just because you're a liberal? lol ( ... )
