You know what I appreciate about 70's animation? The fact that the woman are not all boobs and bones, they you know actually have figures that you might see in the real world.

I know that has nothing to do with the meat of the post, but I just felt like pointing that out.

Oh no, I completely agree with you. People say that female characters in 70's animation were stupid, weak, or powerless, but they were no worse than any of the males. I actually like most if not potentially all the female characters from older Gundam, as opposed to newer Gundam where if I get over hating their appearance I have to get over hating their personality (or lack there of) only to be stopped by just hating their actions. Arrrrgh.
