let's see, i've never seen anything with reese witherspoon in it, my toenails are metallic turquoise, I've been to the un but didn't give a speech, I've posted screen caps of Viggo's bare behind ... so I guess I'll just wander off and vote for you then.
Where was I? Oh yes, 'Election' is RW's only half-decent film. She plays a strutting, toothy high-school mini-Mussolini running for president of the student council, from which she's clearly going to take over the world.
Which is obviously what I'm planning to do from the platform of the SN awards, too.
Orli is actually saying, i hope PJ wins the oscars.
i have no desire whatsoever to see anything with reese witherspoon in it ... i'd rather see rupert graves cavort in his birthday suit in the woods, thank you.
Well, it's not much of a choice, really, is it? Legally Blonde Five, or whatever the hell number they're up to, or Rupert G hiding naked behind an unfeasibly small bush. I'm all in favour of small bushes.
I have mixed feelings towards the Starless Night awards, as I have towards anything that vaguely resembles organisation in fandom (I pulled out of the planned zine due to being freaked). I was nominated for the last Starless thingy and was chuffed for about a week, despite my high-falutin' principles (heh) but then when I won something I couldn't even be bothered posting it on my website and deleted the Starless icon from LJ. So. *shrugs*
Just to explain why I won't be voting for you. :-( I won't be voting for *anybody*.
No problems, dearie. I just posted because otherwise it seemed ungrateful to the person who was nice enough to nominate me, and because I'd been notified some time ago when I was away from my computer. I was very new to slash and to LJ when the last Starless Night awards happened, but have vague memories of a huge controversy over judging or something. To which I remain determinedly oblivious.
In answer to your kind query elsewhere, the Gothic article is still under way, having been interrupted by inputting the marks of 497 (count them!) First Years!
Well, I've only been slashing since last May. I just got here, really. (But no, I over-react to practically everything. It is an unfortunate personality trait.)
Yeahy!! Go you!! lol...please ignore previous comment...I was assuming you got nominated for one of your VigBeanie fics...halfway through my comment I realized you hadn't, but forgot to change my opening line...lol. *puts bag over head*
Last year the awards were very Hobbit-centric and a lot of people who write other pairings got peeved about it. This year it's all by popular vote and there are no categories for particular pairings--which has its own pitfalls, but hey, they're only as good as we make them. I'm really happy to see all different sorts of pairings over there this time, and lots of writers I know and admire!! I even managed to get nominated... :P
*giggles immaturely at notion of hobbit-centricity*
Perhaps the Starless Night Awards should be reported to the UN for pro-hobbit prejudice. There should be an investigation and a very long report into the matter.
I know it was you - and thank you, it was VERY nice and made me feel glowy - I only didn't name you, as I wasn't sure about nomination/anonymity protocols, seeing as nominators aren't mentioned on the site, or not that I saw. I'm an amateur at such things and remain entirely ignorant of awards controversies, apart from a couple of the comments above, which suggest past hobbit-centricity.
Keep the condolences rolling in - another batch of exam scripts just rolled in, with graduate student essays and external examiner visits still to come. *clutches head and moans*

I'm very excited for you. I would assume by your reaction, that this is a first award for you?
