Tupperware, I believe, is American in origin. In the name of unnecessary research, here's a page on the history of Tupperware.

I used to be a Tupperware Lady. not a Tupperware Sales Representative -- I was a Tupperware Lady. I used to do parties in little 1950s dresses (mostly for gay men).

Sometimes I miss it. If you have any Tupperware-related questions, I am your woman.

I see your tupperware query has been resolved already, but thought you might like to know about drop_the_u, which apparently exists for that sort of question, although so far it seems to be a bit random, or maybe there's just not so much call for Ameripicking questions as for Britpicking...

Yay! for your fic of Hobbitpile origins - "long" and "dirty" (even mildly) sounds extremely promising. But - Tupperware? Can you be serious? I think my brain hurts.
