Aug 30, 2004 12:20

Having not darkened the door of LJ for *coughs* quite some time, I'm fairly sure rumours of my demise are exaggerated. Yes, definitely alive still ( Read more... )

Hurray! Alive!

Tupperware, I believe, is American in origin. In the name of unnecessary research, here's a page on the history of Tupperware.

Sadly, apart from the ZINE, I can tell you about nothing, because I live under a slimy rock.

My eternal gratitude. Now I will always be well-informed about the Wonderlier Bowl, Earl Tupper and the Tupperised Kitchen, as well as the Legendary Airtight Seal!

It's worth being alive for these kinds of insights, I tell you.

I used to be a Tupperware Lady. not a Tupperware Sales Representative -- I was a Tupperware Lady. I used to do parties in little 1950s dresses (mostly for gay men).

Sometimes I miss it. If you have any Tupperware-related questions, I am your woman.

Glad to know you're not dead :).

I see your tupperware query has been resolved already, but thought you might like to know about drop_the_u, which apparently exists for that sort of question, although so far it seems to be a bit random, or maybe there's just not so much call for Ameripicking questions as for Britpicking...

Excellent. Can always use another source of faintly nit-picky light entertainment for when I should be working.

I found it via hp_britglish, which I read despite not really being an HP person for that very reason.

I didn't know you were writing for this zine! Go you!

I swear,I'm so out of things I should just get back under the sofa with the dust-bunnies. The teaser for your VigBean is most titillating, and you know all too well my weakness for - well, PRECISELY that sort of thing. I'm particularly charmed by Viggo's hotel shampoo.

*pauses to ponder this*

Can't wait! I shall go and distract myself by hobbitfic.

Have mailed you back in admiration. I was going to post it here, but felt spoilerish about being in any way descriptive.

You are the queen of hobbit beta-ing. It'll probably be done tomorrow or the day after that. Now that the Tupperware issue's been cleared up.

So glad you didn't have a funeral without inviting us! Well, also relieved that you didn't have one at all, solitary or otherwise. We was worried, we was. ;-D

Yay! for your fic of Hobbitpile origins - "long" and "dirty" (even mildly) sounds extremely promising. But - Tupperware? Can you be serious? I think my brain hurts.
