What do you think?

I was at the doctor's office today. It's located, like most doctor's offices, in a large building with other doctor's offices in it. While I was sitting in the waiting room, I was across from the door. It was open because it was quite hot in the room. Twice, I looked up to see this three or four year old running up and down the hall while his mother hurried after him. Both times, he stopped in front of our door and stared inside because it was open. Bonus? He wasn't escaping his mother; she was letting him do this! How do I know? The second time when she caught up with him, she stopped him and said, "Alright honey, now let's go see if it's our turn" in a way that made it really obvious that she was just letting him burn off steam while they waited.

Now... the kid wasn't screaming or being loud, but I still think that was incredibly rude and inappropriate. If you have to bring your child to the doctor's, bring something quiet for him or her to play with, at least. They usually have toys in the waiting rooms, but if they don't, have the foresight to realize that allowing him to run up and down the hall of a place like that is so not okay. Sheesh.
