Matthew Michael Murdock is a superhero known as Daredevil in the Marvel Comics 616 universe. The son of a boxer/mob enforcer and a woman who abandoned him at birth to become a nun, he grew up in part of New York called Hell's Kitchen. As a boy he promised his father not to become an "uneducated pug" and spent all his time reading books and studying.
Then one day while when trying to rescue a blind man from getting run over, he was blinded by a radioactive substance carried by a truck. Though he lost his vision, Matt's other senses were heightened far beyond normal human ability. He could now hear a whispered conversation taking place in a sound proof room. He can monitor a person's heartbeat and tell if they are lying. He can read books just by running his fingertips over the raised print. He can track someone by their scent from four blocks away and identify any individual component of food just by tasting a sample. Through all of these senses, Matt has been able to develop a sort of echo-location in his head that allows him to sense objects, people, etc. in all directions. Additionally since Matt has all these over-developed senses it has given him a sense of balance that allows him to do acrobatics far beyond a normal Olympic athlete. (Or at least that was Stan Lee's theory anyway)
That alone doesn't sound like a great power for a superhero. Right? Luckily for Matt and old man named "Stick" found him and started training him as a ninja. With all of these skills, Matt uses them when he becomes the hero known as Daredevil.
But not just yet.
Matt will be coming to Fandom somewhere in the middle of Frank Miller's origin story "The Man without Fear." It's been several years after Matt's accident with the truck and has been trained by Stick in various fighting styles. He has fairly good control of his powers now and can control them without driving him insane.
He also has some nifty ninja fighting skill as well. Gotta love Ninjas.
Matt's Powers and You: A Primer
One aspect of Matt's power is he can hear just about everything going around him. You live on a different floor? Yes. Matt can hear you talking and listen in on the intimate details of your character's life. However I'm more interested in having Matt learn all these details through character interaction. So unless there's some plotty reason for Matt to hear something going on in the dorm or town? All those conversations are just going to bleed together in one big mess so that Matt can tune you out.
Matt can also identify you by scent if he has spent more than five minutes with you no matter how you might try to mask it. To clarify: I will not be asking you what your characters smell like We'll just say he recognize your character because of his powers because that's not information I care to know and an infpost OCD thread I don't care to create. :)
If you are a Marvel Character from Earth-616...
If you are a Marvel Character from Earth 616 and in the current timeline, your character has probably heard the media blitz that announced to the world that Matt Murdock is really Daredevil. There was also this whole thing where Matt took over an adversary group known as The Hand, got possessed by a demon and took over New York and killed a bunch of people but got better and is now just Daredevil again.
If you want to try and spoil young Matt about this and also becoming a superhero, go ahead but he'll probably think you're insane.

Even though the icons don't show it, Matt is always going to be wearing sunglasses so he doesn't show off the creepy white eyes he received from a face full of radioactive waste.
Yes, I could have gone with another PB who wears sunglasses and holds a cane but Ben Affleck in this role makes my eyes bleed. This PB has red hair and looks more like Matt. So you'll just have to imagine the sunglasses.
And Finally...
Matt's a ho and has a bad habit of sleeping with either women who will try to kill him or with women whose lives will be ruined because he slept with him. However in this point in canon he'll probably be too busy spending his time in his room studying or running over rooftops in the warehouse district to do these kinds of things. Plus who wants to ruin their character's lives? Right?
After being told by various people just to embrace Matt's ho-ness I'm doing just that. Kind of. Mostly. Look, I suck at RP flirting so if your character is hot and female just assume he's interested, okay?

- Matt is blind but has other super senses and built in echolocation to make up for it
- Matt's has super hearing but won't listen in to your conversations unless you ask for it OOCly.
- Matt's secret identity has been blown in the current timeline of Marvel. Matt hasn't even taken on his Daredevil persona yet but you can try and spoil him if you want. He'll just think you're nuts.
