Matt
It had been almost two days since Matt's last little run-in on the rooftops and so far he had no luck in finding the assassin he had battled.
And so Matt was back on the roof. Specifically he was sitting on a old water basin trying to filter out all the sounds around him to try and find some trace of the assassin. Matt had no idea who his target was but he was not going to let him get away again.
Ghost
It wasn't too far away this time. Stalking Stark on his way back from some place called Mooby Burger.
Without many people around, it was a perfect spot to make the hit and leave before anyone realized he was there. So, that would be him setting up a sniper rifle.
Matt
There.
The pitch coming the circuitry in the assassin's suit and the sound of a gun being put together. Matt bounced of his perch and started his mad dash across the rooftops to the killer's location.
Ghost
This kid was starting to become a nuisance.
The assassin turned, swinging the gun to take aim at him and fire as soon as he had the shot lined up. Because it was just annoying to be found each time.
Matt
And that would be Matt dodging and rolling under the bullets as did his best to get close to the assassin as he could before tossing the billy club at his gun hand.
Ghost
"Can't you catch a hint?" he asked, phasing so it passed through him again.
Matt
"Not really," Matt replied back as the billy club bounced back into his hand. "Can you?"
And with that he flung the club back in the direction of the assassin.
Ghost
"Not really," he replied dryly. He could stay intangible all day, you know. "I always complete my jobs."
Matt
"Not this time," Matt growled back as the club bounced back into his hand. "You see... I can be rather stubborn."
Ghost
How did he do that?
"And I can be patient," he replied, sinking down once more before running out of the building.
Matt
Uh-uh. Not this time.
With a daring jump, Matt leaped off the building and bounced off a beam. A wind gust caught the knit cap he was wearing and flew off. Any chance he had to protect his identity was gone. However he had other worries right now. Like landing in front of Ghost just as he was exiting.
"Did I mention I was persistent?"
Ghost
If he heard Matt, he didn't give any indication of it as he ran through the boy to get his target. This damn island was just getting on his nerves. The squirrels and oddly colored deer were a little past his comfort level.
Matt
That wasn't creepy it all.
It did however give Matt only a moment's pause before he was off and running after the assassin.
And there was no way in hell he was going to stop now, intangible or not.
Tony
Unfortunately, all Tony could see coming at him was Matt running at full tilt. So, he was just going to get out of the way. "Careful!"
Ghost
Not out of the way enough to not have an invisible gun pointed at him, reading to fire as soon as he had a shot. Sorry, Tony.
Nothing personal.
Matt
"Get out of here Tony!"
And that would be Matt shoving a billy club into the assassin's intangible head.
"So tell me... what happens when you become tangible again with my billy club in your head?"
Tony
"Um." Okay, Matt? You're acting crazy. "Were you bitten by a gremlin?"
Ghost
"I move out of the way first," he said, staying still for the moment. "Not that hard."
Matt
You can't shoot him if you're intangible, can you?" Matt growled. "Tony? Get the hell away from here. Fast. I don't know how long I can hold him off."
Tony
"What the hell is going on and who are you talking to?" Sorry, Matt. He was also from Marvel and filled with the hero complex.
Ghost
"I said I could wait, didn't I?" he drawled, sinking down into the ground now. Sewer systems weren't his favorite, but they worked in a pinch.
Matt
Matt swore under his breath as he turned and marched towards Stark. "Tony? You're in danger. You've got an invisible assassin after you."
Tony
"An invisible assassin," Tony repeated. Because that made perfect sense in his life these days.
"Somehow, I'm not actually all that surprised," he admitted. Never mind that now! "C'mon. I know someone who can help."
Matt
"You know someone who can deal with invisible assassins?" Matt asked as he fell in line with Tony.
Tony
"Yeah," Tony replied, leading the way. "Captain America."
Matt
Matt gave Tony a look like he just might be crazy.
"Captain America?" he asked. "Are you serious? What the hell is he doing on Fandom?"
Tony
"Teaching Sex Ed."
Matt
"... Damn this island is wierd."
