The big push was on for the resistance and tomorrow was the big day. For his part, Matt was doing his best to take out as many surveillance devices as he could and then moving on to the next block to start all over again.
He wasn't sure how long or how far he could get doing this but at this point there was no turning back now.
Tony The answer? Not terribly long.
"You're paying for those," Tony informed him helpfully, voice only mildly distorted by the suit.
Matt Damn it.
"I'll send the bill to Stark Enterprises," Matt said starting to run for the next rooftop. "I'm sure the replacement costs will be pocket change to them."
Tony "International. Funny how it's different everywhere, right?" Tony replied a small sigh. He clenched and unclenched one hand, feeling the minor adjustment in the repulsor against his palm.
"You can come with me willingly now, or we can do this the hard way. I'd rather no one gets hurt, in all honesty."
Matt Matt landed on the opposite rooftop and turned to face Stark.
"And what do you think is going to happen to me if I turn myself in?" Matt countered, "Do you really think Umbridge is just going to give me a slap on the wrist and everything will be okay? Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get brainwashed like everyone else instead of being thrown into a dungeon for the rest of my life."
The billy-club was out now and Matt held it at the ready. Yeah. A billy club versus Stark armor.
Right.
This will go well.
Tony "Right now? That might be the safest place for you," Tony replied with a sigh. But he didn't move to attack Matt. Not yet.
Matt "I'll pass," Matt replied and threw the billy-club.
Not at Tony.
First it bounced off a ventilation duct, then a small satellite dish before smashing into another surveillance camera on the opposite side of the roof and then ricocheting back into Matt's hand.
"I always did prefer doing things the hard way."
Tony That was so unnecessary, Matt. What did you think the was? A visual media that would make that look all cool and stuff
Tony sighed, lifting his hand toward him. "Sorry," was the last thing he said before everything else was drowned out by the deafening sound of the sonic disruptor.
Matt Matt's knees buckled as he cried out in pain. Out of reflex his hands went to cover his ears in a useless gesture of protection.
"How did you know?" he said through gritted teeth.
Tony "I paid attention," Tony replied, suddenly closer now, what appeared to be a very fancy pair of handcuffs in hand. "The only reason it took this long is that you weren't a concern until now."
Tony Stark: le douchebag.
Matt "Not over yet," Matt said through gritted teeth and lashed out at the arc reactor on Tony's chest with the billy club.
Tony Tony took a step back, shaking his head at this. Seriously, delaying the inevitable, Matt. Don't bring a billy club to a multibillion dollar suit of armor fight.
"It really is," he replied, firing the sonic disruptor again.
Matt Note to self: Get a better billy club when dealing with an enemy that has more money than you do.
Matt shouted again, buckling under the sounds coming from the disruptor.
This really wasn't how it was going to end, was it?.
Tony So, so was, Matt. Sorry about that.
"Just come along peacefully and I'll stop."
Matt And with that statement, Matt looked up and glared at Tony.
"Bite me."
Tony "Not really my type, Matt." Stay classy, Tony.
Matt "I'm not going peacefully," Matt replied grimly. "If you're going to take me down you're going to have to do it right."
Tony Tony shrugged at that, adjusting the level on the sonic disruptor before firing again. He'd had a bad week, people. A very bad, no good, terrible week.
