The early 90s was a bad time for comics in general. Some good things came out of it, but then again, KNIGHTFALL.

If you're going to read X-Men, read the Chris Claremont stuff from the late 70's-early 90's. He wrote X-Men for 17 years, there was the most consistent character development and badassery in there, and after that everything became a cesspool.

Not to say the Claremont years were perfect, but I enjoyed them.
