Well I will tell you one thing Val, if you don't do it when you're single, you will never do it when you're married and have kids. If it's something you really want to experience, now is the time. Maybe you will get out there and hate every second of it. I guess that would give you your answer! What is drawing you there? I know, warm dry climate. But what else? Why you think God is calling you or not calling you?
Do you know Christy Hendrickson? She lives in AZ but I don't know exactly where she is compared to Phoenix.
Okay, how about this...what do you have to lose by trying? You aren't married. You aren't employed. You're young. I mean, if you don't like it you can turn around and come home. Sometimes we don't know if we've taken a wrong step until we actually TAKE a step. Weigh out the good and the bad. See which list is bigger! Is there a downside to going? What are the risks? What are the benefits? What will you do if you go? Do you know anyone there? Where will you live? Here's another option. Start planning as if you were going. Look for apartments. Send in some resumes. If you get a really bad feeling in your spirit, don't go. If you don't feel any warning signs, check it out. Or I guess your other option is to forget about it and just stay where you are. If you don't go, will you regret it for the rest of your life? Or will you be fine with it? I'm just trying to give you some things to think about. How serious are you about this?
all good questions. i have thought about them for a while now, semi-seriously until recently. the good far outweighs the bad.
when i read your comment "your other option is to forget about it," my initial reaction was "no!!" and i think if i didn't really want this, i wouldn't have spent the last two years mulling it over.
it's just a matter of turning a thought into an action, taking it one step at a time and seeing what happens. it's a very scary thing to do, but i don't want fear to rob me of an awesome opportunity.
though i'd miss you like mad, i have to agree if you want to go that badly, don't hold back. look at how much and how often i wonder if i should have moved to australia w/billie and christine!
just one thing... i can still live here, right? ;-)
seriously though.... don't be afraid. or at least.. don't let the fear control you.
