I... still have no words. Like you said months ago, I should really be saying a lot about this, given my politics, but... I just don't know what to say.

I really can't believe all of this.

By the way. SixApart, a Russian company, has owned LiveJournal for many years, but for a long time the servers were located in the U.S. anyway... until now. I've confirmed via traceroute (or tracert if you're on Windows) that .livejournal.com routes to Russian servers, subject to Russian influence and law. No offense to any citizens of .ru out there, but I have 'trust issues' when it comes to that country's idea of "free speech." I have created a Dreamwidth account with the same username as this one. Copying of content from here to there may take place soon. You... should probably evaluate your options and decide if doing something similar is right for you.

Thanks for the tip. I have been thinking about moving to a different platform for a while...

But.... but...

...where would you go? The problem is... most other not-LJ (or at least LJ-like, which Dreamwidth is) kind of suck. Twitter is too short, Facebook is too... fucking Facebook... and... er... yeah. What have you been thinking of moving to?
