Falling behind in my Viggo fandom

I haven't even seen "Alatriste" yet, but I'm already looking forward to Viggo's next flick, "Eastern Promises." I like it when he plays the sort-of-bad guy (Albino Alligator, American Yakuza, G.I. Jane, A History of Violence). This morning I ran across this interesting tidbit from today's Chicago Sun-Times...

One of my favorite Morrissey songs could be loosely based around a tattoo that is common in Russian prisons... "A Swallow On My Neck"... but I doubt it, however, it was what came to my mind...

I've seen bits and pieces of Albino Alligator (Matt Dillon, no?) and have seen American Yakuza on IFC many times, but never stop to watch it... Am I missing something? Or is it most likely not my cuppa tea?

I cannot tell a lie. Most of Viggo's early cinematic endeavors were real duds. Oh. My. God. "The Passion of Darkly Noon" has to be one of the most dreadful movies I have ever watched. Bleeeechhhh! And I have never endured the whole of the version of "Psycho" he was in. Ditto for the Chainsaw Massacre one he was in. I have to draw the line somewhere.

The movies were duds, but Viggo is still a hottie. "A Walk on the Moon" may be the earliest movie of his that I actually thought was good, and he was lookin' mighty fine in it. Plus, Diane Lane was looking quite hot as well, bonus. And there was some period piece Viggo had a bit part in that was actually quite decent. Can't remember the title right now.

Huuuuuuge Viggophile. It was my secret online life a few years ago. And yes, Matt knows allllll about it. ;p

The movie you were trying to think of where Viggo is in a period piece is called "Portrait of a Lady" with Nicole Kidman. (I'm a fellow Viggophile)
