I bought a house. Yes. I've been gone for what seems like years, and now I'm back--and I bought a house. My first house. We seal the deal and move in around the end of March/beginning of April ( Read more... )

Actually.

SO glad to hear about the house. I'm jealous of those who have achieved a high quotient of what I like to call RPL (real person living). My level of RPL is pretty low. People with houses have massive RPLs. So... congrats on either being more of a person, more real, or more living than I am.

Hahaha, well thanks, Dev. I'm flattered that you have granted me such high RPL status, though I'm sorry I'm slightly more living than you...slightly. But you know what that means? Now you can come visit my RPL home! And do things like go hot tubbing and sip champagne while hot tubbing by candle light...'Cause that's what real people do, right?

First - congrats on a house cuz I'm sure once you have the chance to enjoy it - you will. Nothing better in the world to have your own bubble where you don't have to worry about roommates or neighbours on all 4 sides of the suite.

Secondly, I hear ya on being an adult and how much grade 6 looks so much better now- especially re: the dipping finances. I was able to save a shiteload of money albeit living with relatives when my boyfriend and I spntaneously bought a house in the summer 1 week after buying tickets for a trip..and 2 weeks before finding out I was unexpectantly pregnant..........that's right pregnant. Everyday is a rollercoaster of emotion regarding being an adult and responsibility. So on top of the fact we aren't saving near the amt I would like financially, I am inching closer and closer to parenthood!
Rant over!

Holy moses! Pregnant? Well, I am sure you saw that one coming. I'm sorry about all the surprises, but congrats on the soon to be edition. Boy? Girl? Names? We tried to save by staying with my mom, but as soon as we moved it in March her jackass child molester (not actually, but it feels like it) boyfriend decided he wanted to move in, too. We beat it out of there and now pay out the ass on an apartment (seriously--the guy asked my mother if me and my girlfriend use strap ons...excuse me???)Then, when we tried to move in again to save for a house, that went out the window because the boyfriend decided he was finally ready to move in with her (after he was supposed to move in in May, June, July, August, Sept, etc last year). So, yes, finances are a tricky thing, but family helps (when they can). \

In short, rant over for me, congrats and keep on truckin with the saving. And good luck with the baby and home. When are you due anyway??
