So, weirdly, my uncle died today. It wasn't particularly on the cards so the first inkling I had was a tearful phone call from Mum. And of course he's in Ireland, and the Irish consider themselves to be in some sort of funerary race with Jewish people, so she has to rush over there for a funeral this Thursday. Condolences for your loss. For me, it is more the lost opportunities that I lament. My aunt died 15 months ago. Cancer; merely in the autumn of life. I hardly knew her, so its not like there is an absence in my life, but now I won't have the chance to get to know her.
But it is good to see you again. Welcome back to the feeling, even if it isn't all sunshine and gardens.
