Writing

This is going to be like a little lesson for those who want to know a tiny bit more about how I, an unpaid writer, goes about the concept.

Writing is like love.

When you're writing something, anything, you experience nirvana. Its a strange reaction, a gestation of ideas and concepts merging into a whole. The execution of actuality, of words on a page (whether notepad or computer monitor) that form a complete package.

Its empty space with scattered text.

Diatribes, monologues, silences. Creating a world, and then governing it. Going by your gut. Working on the fly. Planning in detail.

Its all this and more.

As mentioned above, only love compares. Its a pure feeling - when you write, think of an idea, you're in the moment. Everything becomes more clear. The sun is warmer, the air is cooler, the people happier. Your senses are more acute, and you are more aware of them. Conversations overheard take on new meaning. The idea is like a firefly, impact and buzz.

I am a writer.

I love writing. Its joy, ecstacy, passion. Every word, syllable, adjective and verb can change what has gone before.

When I write -- I'm transported to a new world.

I'm moved by characters, beings I'll never meet... but which are as real as can be. They exist in me. I'm governed by their will, their decree and their purpose.

I write off the cuff.

They tell me where to go. Its instinct, pure and simple. Information passed down via the brain, spinning round the gut - moving past the heart and back.

Soon events take shape. Darkness, light, passion, stoicness. Its all applicable.

The point is that you need to have passion for writing. Because no-one is ever going to see it the way you do... and that passion keeps you going,

Thats writing!
