Okay, so I bet this whole writing-a-thesis thing works better if you ever ACTUALLY WORK ON IT ARG OMG. *clutches head*

I guess I shouldn't complain too hard, though, as the thesis at least gets a more regular workout than this here WhineBlog. Possibly there is some causation in this correlation.

Oh, cool, you're doing one this year? Dare I ask what on? (Though perhaps it will be very science-y and you'd have to use small words for the social-science major ;) )

I'm doing a genetic analysis of two subspecies of minnow (Notropis dorsalis dorsalis and Notropis dorsalis keimi). I'll be sequencing two mtDNA genes and comparing them to see if there's enough difference to consider them separate species. Well, I actually won't be doing the sequencing. I'll be doing the extraction, purification and amplification. But it's close enough!!

What's yours on?

Huh, that sounds really interesting, even to my never-took-college-bio self. Also a lot more useful-to-the-field than mine, to say the least ( ... )

But in the event that you do ever finish it, could you email me a copy?

Seriously really? Sure, if you want. That won't be for another couple of months, though...

Totally. I don't know that I'll read it the instant I get it, but it sounded really interesting when you were talking about it, and now I'm curious. *shrugs*
