So, maybe I've become obsessed with the new King Kong...

I swear, if I see one more person say, 'How can a movie about a giant monkey/ape/generally incorrect primate reference be any good?', I'm going to FLOG EVERYONE ON MY FLIST! Seriously! I love the original King Kong. This one looks good, but I dunno if I'll go see it in the theater. I'm partial to the old, crappy looking, black and white.

A lot of people say that before they go see it. I saw the original before and after I saw this one, and it just doesn't compare in the slightest. Some originals should never be remade, but man. Peter Jackson really amazes me.

gorgeous icons, love. i may steal one or two. and i absolutely agree with your assessment of the film - and i knew nothing about the original, so it was all a surprise to me. i was just devastated by the end. could have done w/o the bugs, though. v. helpful to have the boy there to tell me when i could uncover my eyes.

jpz! i was just wondering about you.

the bug scene was very long. i heard it was a scene in the original that was cut because it was too icky. i think it was definitely too icky :(
