The Name comes from an E-mail address i set up when I first went on Line a few years ago now (the exact derivation and the origin of the _s would bore people). I dont know of a band with the same name though.

When looking for an E-mail address (as an alternative to my name with a number) I looked for a suitable descripive name or something that would have an obvious link but anything I could think of had been taken. I then thought that since no one thing (name) truly reflected me only an aspect, the idea of Chimera as a name came to me as the Chimera is a mythological creature that is made up of a number of
different creatures - it reflects that I (as an individual) am made up of different aspects and am not just one thing. When I tried to get it as my E-mail addresss I found it had been taken, however I decided that I wanted the name so I would be forced into accepting a Pre or postfix. I used to be a big Die Laughing and they had a track - In Chimera's Shadow hence Chimera's S or Chimera_S. And that will teach you to ask questions when you have been warned how boring the answer is.
