My favorite of the deadly sins is lust. There are several reasons...some selfish, some not. Lust...desire...is something that I have come to embrace. I've had to...I fought it for so long, but the truth is that I am a very sexual creature. I had to find the balance of that in my life...and it has been a long road to understanding that aspect of myself.
Of the virtues(which vary according to source), my favorite is honor. Honor is not so easily defined as the other virtues. Honor is a very personal standard that is maintained or broken under very individual circumstances. It is self-checking in that bending your definition of honor to fit your actions defies the basics of the concept itself. Honor is a complex concept that often works well with laws of what is right, but can and does exist outside the inadequate and unforgiving bounds law creates.
And yes, a bit of self discovery is always ...eye opening.
