...well, then. It appears there may be some light at the end of the tunnel after all, though not, perhaps, the one I was seeking. I must admit, being called to the headmaster's office only to have concerns expressed about my current depression... it was extremely unexpected. Talking with him was as might have been predictable, but his offer after that... well, I suppose I was only surprised in that I didn't realize I had solicited it. But everyone knows what the headmaster likes and everyone likes to get ahead... looking back, it makes sense.
But at least now I have something to look forward to; a star on the near horizon won't solve all my problems, but it would certainly make the world a brighter place. And why not earn it doing something I enjoy rather than actually working?
