A cuddle buddy for chilly!

So the other day I read online about "cuddle buddies" for chinchillas. My chin seemed a little lonely so I picked up a little, soft sheep stuffed animal for her. I made sure to get something chinchilla-sized to be as realistic as possible.
When we took her out and introduced her to it, she ignored it, but today my fiance came home to find her ( Read more... )

I have a 'cuddle buddy' for my girl as well, although her's isn't an actual stuffed animal. We got her a stuffed cube toy roughly the same size of her, and she's been sleeping cuddle up against it or using it as a recliner for the better part of a year. She loves it! Only problem with them though is that you have to take them out and wash them every so often.

just out of curiosity, what is it made of? does your chin chew on it at all? i'm thinking something fleece would be safer possibly if your chin is a chewer... maybe i could make one... hmmmm

We've been watching her to see if she chews it and she hasn't really. She usually only chews on hard material like wood.

Its so adorable (and a bit sad) to see them snuggle up like that...

Just remember that the best gift you can give a chinnie is playtime with you--whether they're solo or paired up. :)

Of course we play with her all the time :)
We just feel guilty cause we really want to get her a friend to live with but we can't afford it at the moment. We figured this is as close as we can get.

It's not necessarily that we can't afford another chin, it's that we can't afford to house it if the two don't get along. We have no idea how our chin gets along with others and we're not sure if she would live with another or not.
