The cold

Hey everyone,
I hope this question isn't too silly, but can it ever be too cold for a chinchilla? I mean, I live in Southern California so it doesn't get THAT cold, but it feels cold to me. It's about 50 degrees F outside right now so it's warmer inside, but I'm just wondering if I should ever heat the room she's in at night.
Thanks!

They'll be fine at that temp. It'll be above 50 inside. My ex and I went out of town for Christmas once, and he had opened a window wide open right before we left. This was in Minnesota. It was seriously 30 degrees max inside for the whole weekend, and my two girls were fine. They were in different cages also, so they couldn't even snuggle. I felt awful. I'm not saying anyone should do that, just that they are pretty able to survive lower temps.
