Pros and Cons

Con: Got a flat tire on the way to work today
Pro: I keep my patch kit, a spare tube, and a hand pump on my bike at all times.
Pro: It happened in an out-of the-way spot so at least I didn't get catcalled while I was fixing it. (BTW, drivers who catcall me? Go to hell.)
Con: Got grease on my hands and the knee of my pants.

Yepsh! But cat calling flat tire changing? Like wolf whistling? Seems weird....

No, I just get catcalled periodically while biking, including yesterday. It would have been extra infuriating if it had happened while I was fixing a tire.

Yeah, the knee is definitely coming along. Slowly.

[Also, I should totally get a spare tube and a pump myself. I do know this. I do. Even if I never cycle further from home than I can walk back, I still should.]

Aww, thanks.

It's not really de rigeur unless you're going to be going further than you can walk, but it is kind of nice to know that you can fix minor bike issues while on the road rather than being totally incapacitated by them. It's like a security blanket in bike-tool form.
