Social media, Y U proliferate?

I'm on approximately 5 different forms of social media right now, and LJ is not currently my primary one. I don't copy all my small meaningless posts here, but I tend to copy the big ones. I've also recently started a blog for beauty & body politics stuff. (Yes, I know I am a weird kind of nerd, that's the pointRead more... )

So here's the deal:

If you post the content here, I will read it here.

If you post a link here, I will follow the link.

If you don't do either of the above, I will read your blog, but probably less promptly.

So really: I'm taken care of here.

Me too. If you post links both here and on G+, I'll be seeing them twice, which seems a bit repetitive, but not spammy.

I would suggest posting links rather than content so all the discussion is in one place.

I have your blog in my feed reader, so I'm covered. (Just sent you potential post fodder and general yumminess on FB.) So long as you're posting on a platform where I don't have to have a new account to read/comment, doesn't matter whether you cross-link.

If you post the content, I'll read it with interest.

If you post a link, I'll probably click through most of the time, but oy, the effort.

If you don't do either, I just won't see it. And that would make me sad.

I think perhaps what I will do is post links & a blurb so that folks can tell whether it's interesting stuff to them.

That works for me. *nods encouragingly*

(I do get irritated by people who offer links without any content/quote/blurb, nothing to help you decide if you want to leave this place where you've chosen to be and go off somewhere else into the dark...)

Yeah, links by themselves are not useful, often. At least a page title guys, come on.

You could do the LJ syndication thing, which would auto-post stuff in a separate journal that people could follow or not as they chose.

With that said, putting stuff here seems fine to me too.
