I think I got a tonne more answers to my question on Crewel Books than if I'd asked it on the other server. It just never seems to update people that new stuff has been put up.

Yay the new group!

Well, I had to put up something, and did not want the V&A getting their knickers in a twist if I posted even a small BIT of one of the photos that I took there, so I used that bit of my needle book. Mind you, that was taken before Brian dropped it into the mud at the parking lot at Arilyn's primary school in Cornwall. It was about a month before it made its way back to me, much bedraggled and muddied, and I waited until I got back to the states before I even thought about dealing with it. I had to get a special brush to extricate the mud from the fibers of linen and silk, but there was nothing I could do about the now pink bee's wings! I will post a photo of it soon.

I am thrilled that people from all walks of interest in embroidery of this period are coming around to the group. I think it is great that everyone is so quick to jump in and help out when someone has a question, and I hope it continues!
