HAHA SORRY INCEPTION PEOPLE. This is a k-pop fic! It is Donghae's birthday (24 in normal people years, 25 in Korean years ;)) and I didn't expect to write this but it sort of steamrolled me last week, so here you go! Extended notes here.

oh mei. mei. this is beautiful and heartbreaking in a quiet, subtle way. for all that it's about settling down and finding love and a future and going where you want in life, it still makes me want to cry ;______; ♥. I love how understated the writing is in this - it somehow feels like it delivers more of an emotional punch that way.

also: askdjfakjk kihae ;_______;. I will love them forever and ever and ever.

yes growing up and moving on and knowing things will change but being okay with that. oh life, it is much easier to appreciate the bigger picture in retrospect. ♥♥ aw liz, i like how kihae brought us together.

And lmao, you just have to write this in such a way that I feel like you're ripping my heart out, don't you ;___; I mean it's ostensibly all happy and sunshine with Donghae getting married and having children and we know he's always wanted that, but there's such a strong undertone of sadness and regret. Kibum, urgh. I still love him and KiHae, sobs.

You did write this differently from your usual way, but in this case, I think it works? Your sentences are short and terse and it makes it more emotional, more hard-hitting, in a way. It's like I'm looking at all these scenarios through Hae's eyes, feeling what he's feeling. It worked wonderfully.

Oh Sheena, you are always too nice to my writing. I am glad you liked this though! I was so unsure since it was a totally different style and also since I hadn't written kpop in ages. And KiHae, always forever! Don't you dare let Gem & co sway you to EunHae. >:(

nowadays i only read kihae from certain people, and one of them is you.
because your kihae is beyond awesome.

and this is heartbreakingly beautiful in it's own kinda way.
makes me kind of wanna cry.
