I heart this show! I saw it off b'way and it made me cry. I didn't get to see it before it won the tony and now I won't be able to afford tix for ages!

I am in love with the music, the characters, the story, Usnavi's rap, Benny's voice, the fact that that awkward kid from CAMP has redeemed himself by showing real talent as Sonny, the feeling of validation that Karen Olivo played Sheila Franklin and she sounds a little like me, that song about Abuela Claudia that breaks my heart... It's Broadway history, and it's perfect.

I'm considering taking my grandma's last name to improve my chances of getting cast in it, LOL

ive seen it twice now...and listen to it everyday on my way to work!

honestly, i think the story line is a little lacking...i didnt cry or really feel that emotional. haha, but i LOVE the music and the dancing.

I can definitely see how the story can be viewed as being a little thin, but for me, growing up in a similar neighbourhood on the west coast, it's a little slice of home. The only part that's really made me cry though is the song Nina sings about Abuela... that was just so close to home.
